Arizona's
own wild pig, the javelina, is much smaller but just as feisty
as Richard's whyte bore. And he's a little surprised to find his
royal cousin here. Artwork by Susan Dexter.

Once
again it is time to gather for the Annual General Meeting of the Richard
III Society, American Branch. We will learn more about Richard and his
times, meet with old friends and make new ones.
Our
keynote speaker and honored guest this year is Michael Jones, co-author
of the standard biography of Margaret Beaufort, The King's Mother,
and more recently the provocative Bosworth 1485: Psychology of a
Battle.
A
sales area will be open during the AGM, featuring items from the Society
Sales Office.
Be
sure to bring your best medieval finery for the traditional Saturday
night banquet. Dianne Batch and Janet Trimbath will lead the "Ricardian
Revelers" in a reading of one of the Corpus Christi plays from the famed
York Cycle-- if you are interested in participating, please note this
on your registration form.
The
Sunday morning breakfast this year will benefit the Branch's Maxwell
Anderson Scholarship fund, which will provide scholarship assistance
to graduate students working in the field of medieval and Renaissance
drama.
As
in previous years, we will raffle off a number of interesting and valuable
(at least to Ricardians!) items. Proceeds from the raffle will also
benefit the Maxwell Anderson fund. You need not be present at the AGM
to win!
In
addition to our own raffle items, the Arizona Chapter will be raffling
off a splendid hand-made silk replica of Richard III's medieval battle
standard -- all proceeds to benefit St. James Church, Dadlington.
