planThe Parlor. The walls are hung with paled (striped) say cloth, dyed with madder (red), indigo and weld (green) hand-woven on traditional looms and stitched together by local volunteers. In true medieval fashion, the hangings are suspended from tenterhooks.

The oak settle (right) is based on a fifteenth-century scale model in the Victoria & Albert museum and on contemporary illustrations.
