Hall floor--click for enlargement

planGreat Hall. Tiled floor and hearth, seen from the gallery. The floor is based on traces found on the original mortared floor beneath, and on other surviving floors and fifteenth century manuscripts.

The Great Hall's central hearth is a medieval original, discovered at a "rescue" dig at Rawcliffe Manner near York and transferred to Barley Hall, courtesy of Pilcher Homes.
