Great
Hall - Screens Passage.
A screens passage usually separated a formal dining area such as the Great
Hall from the cooking, food preparation and storage areas. Today, it serves
as a window onto the life of a fifteenth-century merchant for the thousands
of tourists who pass through the snickelway on busy summer days.
The door visible across the passage leads to the pantry and buttery, which served as staging areas for the Hall's banquets.
