William Shakespeare,
"The Tragedy of King Richard The Third"
An Annotated Hypertext Edition

Acknowledgments

The list of contributors to this section is growing as scholars and enthusiasts work collaboratively to review the material presented here and to make additional contributions to the body of historical and critical annotations.

Thanks are due right now (April 23, 1996) to Nancy Laney for conceiving the idea of a hypertext edition prepared by Society members and keyed to generally accepted historical scholarship for the period, and for her hard work in keyboarding and formatting the text of the play itself, for preparing the extracts and summaries from Charles Ross's biography of Richard III, and for creating the scene listings and timelines.

Thanks are due in advance to Maria Elena Torres for her series of biographical sketches of the dramatis personae, currently under development; to A. Compton Reeves and to James A. Moore for offering to review and comment upon the accuracy of the supplementary materials from a historical and a literary perspective, respectively, and especially to Professor Moore for offering to devote some of his research time at the Folger Shakespeare Library in May 1996 to additional work on this edition.

HTML markup was provided by Laura Blanchard (Act I and supplementary materials), Mark Doblekar (Acts II and III) and Nancy Laney (Acts IV and V) and server resources are donated by The Blanchard Company by courtesy of Roy Blanchard.
