Ashby Canal at King Richard's Field
A signboard encourages travelers on the Ashby Canal to disembark here and walk down the embankment to King Richard's Field, where a commemorative stone marks the spot at which Richard III was killed by the forces of Sir William Stanley, according to the traditional interpretation of the battle accounts.
