The Battlefield Line:
Shenton Station
The southeastern terminus of the Ashby & Nuneaton Joint Railway is the Shenton Station, located just next to the Battlefield Centre. From here it is a short walk of less than 500 yards to the Battlefield Visitor Centre, along a sheep meadow bearing Henry Tudor's battle standard and then on up Ambion Hill. A short walk in the other direction leads to King Richard's Field. The Ashby Canal is also just a few dozen yards away, affording the possibility of many miles of enjoyable country walking.

The railway's Highlander heritage diesel service (shown here) alternates with locomotive-pulled trains in selected weeks of the year. Contact the Railway at The Battlefield Line, Shackerstone Station, Shackerston, Leicester, CV13 6NW or telephone 01827-880754 for additional information.
