According to local tradition, Richard III heard his last Mass in this church. The Richard III Society holds a commemorative service here each year on the Sunday closest to the anniversary of the battle.

Many of the needlepoint kneelers in the church are the work of members of the Richard III Society, in England and abroad.

The Richard III Society encourages contributions in support of the fabric of this beloved Ricardian landmark. Contributions may be made through the Ricardian Churches Restoration Fund. This is one of the Fund's five Grade I member churches. The Fund's most recent gift to this church was to help repair the crumbling stonework around its windows.
