For years, the Richard III Society, American Branch has had a cordial relationship with another organization, the Society of the White Hart, an assocation of scholars in Great Britain and the United States who share an interest in England during the later middle ages, with special emphasis on the reign of Richard II. (We call the White Harts Ricardians of the Second Kind.)

In memory of its founder, James Gillespie, the two societies are establishing an award to provide travel funds for students or independent scholars to present papers at scholarly colloquia. The fund will be administered by the Richard III Society in consultation with the Society of the White Hart, and awards will be made on the basis of the deliberations of a selection committee.

Contributions to the fund are tax deductible to U.S. citizens to the amount allowed by law. You can make an online pledge or make a gift through Helping.org using your Mastercard or VISA. Donors from outside the U.S. should contact their tax authorities regarding the tax status of these gifts. Whichever method you choose, please specify that this is a gift toward the Gillespie Fund.
