  • October 19--In addition to redesigning the home page, the first step in a site overhaul, we included a new Introduction/Contents page with links to some Quick Start pages for students and folks interested in exploring the historical controversy. Also a link to another site offering a Java application for rearranging the facial features of Henry Tudor -- all in good fun, of course.

  • July 14, 1997--Added dates for 1997 events to Bosworth Battlefield page.
  • July 10, 1997--Created a section on Sir Thomas More, including a mirror of Richard Bear's HTML edition of More's History and commentary by Jeremy Potter, former chairman of the Society.

  • June 17, 1997--Added links to other sites with online resources for students and teachers in our Learning Resources section.

  • May 14, 1997--Added call for papers, 1998 Conference on Fifteenth Century Studies, co-sponsored by the Richard III Society, American Branch and the departments of history of Ohio University and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

  • January 20, 1997--New Bibliography! By permission of the author, we are duplicating here the "further reading" section from A. J. Pollard's Richard III and the Princes in the Tower.

  • January 1, 1997--Audiovisual Resources for Teachers--information on films for teaching Richard III and the middle ages.

December 1996

  • December 31--Two new resources for teachers: a viewer's guide and lesson plan for Looking for Richard developed by Youth Media International in cooperation with Fox Searchlight Pictures; and an "open-web" quiz that teachers can adapt to their courses to help students build web search and evaluation skills.
  • December 24--We have been advised that the mock trial of Richard III, Chief Justice William Rehnquist presiding, will air on C-SPAN Saturday, January 4, 1997 at 7:00 p.m. EST.
