- The American Branch is sponsoring a web site
section for the Ricardian Friends
of Barley Hall, a late medieval York townhouse. When it's
completed, this will be its homepage. Meanwhile, it includes links
to an article about the Hall and some relevant online resources.
- Added a link to a report on the 1999
Richard III Society Conference at Magdalen College, Oxford.
- The
Yorkshire Branch now has its own web site, including information
on Ricardian Yorkshire.
- Added a link to Isolde Wigram's article, Were
the 'Princes in the Tower' Murdered? on the Victoria (Australia)
branch site.

This memoir, by one of the advisors of the French king Louis XI, offers
an interesting perspective on the Wars of the Roses and on Edward
IV's 1475 French campaign. Translated with an Introduction by Michael
Jones.
- Ricardian
Calendar. Put up by freelance Ricardian, this monthly calendar
shows significant dates (births, deaths, battles, etc.) for the principal
characters in the Ricardian drama.
- Researching
the Middle Ages: A Guide foStudents. This guide to doing library
research on the middle ages was prepared by Society member and private
school librarian Sally Foulkrod with high school students in mind.

our Learning Resources section. Your
experiences can help shape the development of new curricular materials
for medieval and renaissance studies at the undergraduate and high
school levels in a program sponsored by the Consortium for the Teaching
of the Middle Ages.

Much of the web site work in 1998 to date has
been routine maintenance and has not been chronicled on this page, although
we did add a section on our academic
conference, which was held May 3-5 at the University of
Illinois. Now online:
- May 18--Added complete information
on American Branch Annual General
Meeting, 1998, to be held October 2-4 at the Cincinnati airport
Hilton (located just across the Ohio River in Florence KY). Hosted
by the Ohio Chapter, this meeting echos the
Middleham theme of the 1989 meeting also hosted by that chapter.
- May 6--Added web-based
outline for "Poor Richard? Defending Richard III as a Research
Exercise," a presentation by Laura Blanchard at the International
